If you’re among the thousands of people who applied for moose and elk licenses in North Dakota, the waiting is over. The Game and Fish Department has held the lotteries, and results are available by going to My Account tab on the Game and Fish Department website.
Game and Fish received 18,079 applications for elk, 21,042 for moose and 14,617 applications for bighorn sheep.
The bighorn sheep lottery is scheduled for September, after summer population surveys are completed and total licenses are determined. Once the lottery is held, Game and Fish will contact successful applicants to select a hunting unit.
Successful applicants in the moose and elk lotteries will receive a letter the week of April 30 indicating their license will be mailed after the correct license fee is submitted and a valid 2018-19 hunting license has been purchased. All hunters, regardless of age, are required to have a general game and habitat license, or combination license, in addition to their moose or elk license.
