Organizers have scheduled a second Future of Hunting Conference, this one for Nov. 30-Dec. 1 in Bismarck.
The initial conference was held March 30-31 and featured presentations and panel discussions with state and federal wildlife officials, legislators, sportsmen’s groups, landowners and representatives from the state’s energy and guiding-outfitting industry.
The North Dakota Wildlife Federation and the North Dakota chapter of The Wildlife Society, in conjunction with the state Game and Fish Department, sponsored the initial conference.
Mike McEnroe, a retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manager and one of the conference organizers, said the timing might not be ideal but it’s about the only option.
“Attendees last spring said loud and clear, don’t wait two years to do it again,” McEnroe said of the initial conference. “January through April is legislative session so if we wait until after that it is May — fishing, spring turkey, golf yard work, spring — so it is now or never.”
I’ll keep you posted on further details as they become available.
