The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has set the regulations and dates for this fall’s hunting seasons. The first hunting opportunity of the year gets under way Aug. 11 with the fall crow season, while the early Canada goose season opens Aug. 15.
Here’s a quick look at some of the more popular seasons and the dates they’re open. I’ll have a more complete rundown on both the hunting and trapping seasons in the Northland Outdoors Section of Sunday’s Grand Forks Herald.
Early Canada goose: Aug. 15-Sept. 15.
Doves: Sept. 1-Oct. 30.
Hungarian partridge, sharp-tailed grouse and ruffed grouse: Sept. 8-Jan. 6.
Sandhill crane unit 1: Sept. 15-Nov. 11.
Sandhill crane unit 2: Sept. 15-Oct. 21.
Pheasants: Oct. 13-Jan. 6.
