Wednesday Is Outdoor Heritage Day In St. Paul

Outdoors and conservation groups will take center stage Wednesday in St. Paul for “Outdoor Heritage Day at the Capitol.”

The event, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in The Great Hall on the ground floor of the Capitol, is sponsored by Hunting Works for Minnesota and the Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Alliance.

The two groups represent a variety of sporting and business groups, along with hunting, fishing and trapping organizations.

Among those scheduled to attend Wednesday’s event are Don McMillan, president of the Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Alliance; and Mark Johnson, executive director of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. Numerous groups, including Pheasants Forever, MDHA, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Conservation Sportsmen, Minnesota Trappers Association, National Wild Turkey Foundation and the Minnesota Darkhouse Angling Association.

In a news release from the organizers, MOHA and Hunting Works officials said they are “looking forward to working with these groups to help educate Minnesota’s legislators about the importance of hunting and the outdoors sports.
