Wildfire Forces DNR To Close Pools 2 And 3 Of Roseau River WMA To Hunting

A large wildfire burning in the Roseau River Wildlife Management Area in northwest Minnesota has forced the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to close Pools 2 and 3 to hunting and other public use, the DNR said this afternoon. The DNR is advising waterfowl hunters to hunt elsewhere or call the Roseau River WMA office at (218) 463-1130 to obtain the latest information. As of 11:30 a.m., the fire burning about 15 miles northwest of Greenbush had consumed about 8,000 acres, and strong southerly winds were continuing to push the blaze north.
